Earth Day with The Lorax!
“I am the Lorax. I speak for the trees. I speak for the trees for the trees have no tongues.”
-Dr. Seuss, The Lorax
Family Programmer, Julie Hodges, and HU Housing Sustainability Coordinator, Olivia Percy, combined forces for an Earth Day extravaganza! To celebrate Earth Day, families were invited to a Lorax themed party full of sustainable crafts and flower planting. The Lorax and a Truffula Tree even made an appearance (I see a faint resemblance to our Faculty Directors, Jim and Doreen Hogle!)
Families came together in the Peabody Terrace common room to learn about how much fun sustainability can be!
Families even made sustainability pledges–like bringing their own reusable bag to the store or taking shorter showers! Even a little change can make a big impact.
Like the Lorax said, “Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, Nothing is going to get better. It’s not.”
Thanks to everyone who came out to our Earth Day event–GO GREEN!
